I don't remember if they have these in Canada, but in Europe, you often see cars (or, more often, trucks) with a little circular sticker on the back - a red circle with a number in it. I thought that they listed a maximum speed that the vehicle was able to drive at, but I've seen some with three stickers - say, 70, 80, and 100 - which confuses me.
Does anyone know what's going on here?

It's speed limit for 3 diffent kinds of roads.
Okay, that makes sense. Does it mean that they can go on roads that have that speed limit? Or is there a way to know which sticker applies, say, for the autoroute?
The first one is for national roads, the second for european roads (i'm not sure this is the name), and the third is for highways/autoroute. So, what it means, is that for that truck the limit is lowered (70 instead of 90, 80 instead of 100, and 100 instead of 120, for example).
wow--it's been a while since you've been here, i guess. there are no such stickers in (at least western) canada that i've ever encountered. then again, i've never been to eastern canada, so i suppose i've never encountered any there, either.
