Stela

So, operation "build portfolio" coming along well - better, unfortunately, than operation "find day job without oil & gas experience". Oh well. These ones are from a shoot last night with Stela, and feel a little different than most of my other work. I kind of like them.

You can see the rest here. Enjoy!

4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 13. 11 is very striking. I like the black and white work you did too.

What? Did the transfer with your Swiss company not work out?

Your photography is going great... really cool. Keep at it. And maybe it's time to start talking to art galleries... your nature/flower collection from 2 years ago is still outstanding and beautiful.

11 was Stela's favorite... personally, I really dig 5 - I LOVE the way her eyes pop - and 7. You can say what you want about smoking... how it smells, the whole cancer thing, whatever - but it looks really, really cool when it's lit.

And no... the project I was contracted to work on was canceled, and so my spot was dropped with it. Turns out that it's not really the absolute best time to be job-hunting.

The top two here get my vote. And yeah - I totally feel you about the job market. Same boat.

Sorry to hear that guys. Sending good vibrations your way!
Darryl, those pictures are sweet! I love n12 and how the color of the bricks stand out. Incidentally: how do you do that? I mean how does one extract a particular colors like yellow, red or blue but leave everything else in black and white?

Hey, Caro! Thanks... I'm glad you like them.

Well, there are ways to select a certain color and then get rid of all the others in photoshop, but here I didn't do that. All of the colors are desaturated, but she was dressed in mostly b&w, so other than her lips and a little bit on her eyes, the really vibrant red wall was the only thing that hits you with much color...

Man, that is really bummer news about the job. After this whole huge move you had to make... bleah.

I've been footloose since Christmas. But now it looks like my equivalent to your photography muse is editing books! I'm getting a big kick out of my second project right now. Hopefully this project will help me get more gigs soon. Later this weekend I plan on going on an advertising blitz... :)
