I wasn't planning to take time for this this weekend, but when the muse calls, I listen.
A little more me with Mindy Smith, here.

I love my couch, in a completely platonic kind of way. If you were sitting on it, these are the kinds of things we may talk about. It would be better if you were actually here since I could make you a drink and put some tunes on - and that would be great, because I have impeccable taste in music - but, since you're not, this will have to do. So put on some good music, get comfortable, and enjoy.

Thanks, Dandy. And, again... nice to see you back.
SOB!
Oh man. That was just fabulous. I had tears in my eyes.
I had a recording session scheduled at last for yesterday... but canceled it on account of stress and thinking if I sang any Mindy songs I'd just bawl all over the place.
Well, I rarely cry when I sing. That happens later, when I play it back.
*sigh*
Anyways, I'm glad you like it. As usual, after listening for a while, there are a couple things I'd like to tweak, but I'm pretty happy with the overall vibe.
Singing is fun.
Oh, you know what part I'm particularly fond of? My intentionally Canadian-ized "part" in the first line of the second verse. Very country, and doesn't match how she sings it, but I dig it.
Crying at your own voice? Drinking your own kool-aid? :)
Singing makes me emotional - I get into the song, or it gives vent to what's going on in life. Other times it's a great distraction, but only if I'm singing with the band and following their lead instead of thinking about my own stuff.
I finally figured out what you were talking about with the "part"... totally subtle, pretty cute, Mr BNL, and doesn't clash either! Bombs away!
Really sounds great... different than Hurricane - you've got a little more gravel to it this time and I like it.
Yeah, it's less a "wow, I put so much emotion into it" kind of crying and more of a "that note is so flat it's almost in a different song" kind of crying.
And yeah, it's quite different from Hurricane... I'm glad you enjoyed it.
