- Better snacks - you can get Wendy's in the Saddledome. No such luck at a football match. Who wants another sausage?
- Football is sooooo..... slooooooowwwwww..... in comparison. It's not as bad as baseball, but it's really, really slow. Anyone remember the Simpsons episode? They were (as usual) right.
- Diving. Or, you could say, Italians.
- Long, greasy hair. What is it with that hair? Maybe hockey players have it, but at least we don't have to look at it all game long. Can one of you P&G people please get these boys a bottle of Pert Plus or something?
- "Highlights". Since the Euro Cup started, I've been watching "highlights" of... well, shots on goal. Sure, most of them are kind of slow, and go straight to the goal-keeper. But they warrant a spot on the highlight film, and that's a pretty big red flag. Once again, confer with baseball: "he hit it and.... somebody caught it. Let's see that again in super slo-mo, Rob".
- Fighting, or a complete lack thereof. See also: Diving.
Yet... I can't stop watching.
Rats.

Ha! The best part of your whole post was "Yet... I can't stop watching". Here's what I have to say to your points:
1. You just want Wendy's because you can't get it anywhere right now. I happen to like the sausages!
2. Some games are slow, and some are not. Some games end 0-0 but are fantastic. The pace is certainly slower than hockey, but the flow is way better. Football never stops, but hockey stops ever minute, usually with a commercial break in-between. In hockey, the puck goes near the opponent's net every few seconds and you never know if there is going to be a good chance that the puck will get stuffed in the net or not. Football has a build-up to each great chance -- you can see something magical is about to happen.
3. No arguments here. The Italians are the worst thing for football. Diving sucks, but some players do keep on when they are fouled. (not Italians, of course) I like to see that.
4. Apparently you weren't watching the Swedish games. They look much nicer.
5. The highlights kind of suck. A lot of times they show the last two touches of a play, but often the build up to the play is the best part, like a perfect pass halfway across the field landing right at the striker's foot, or a cool flick and spin to get around a defender.
6. The English fans weren't invited to this competition, so overall the fighting has been a lot less during Euro2008. But there has been a bit of shoving and throwing to the ground resulting in red cards.
I think what bugs me the most is these guys who act like they are dying when someone bumps them a bit, while hockey players will get up as fast as they can after having their heads slammed into the boards. Some football is scrappier than others... you need to turn off the Italian games. :)
Hopefully the Netherlands will get pretty far and you can see a lot of great football! I am hoping for a Germany v. Netherlands final, and they can fight for my love1
Keep on watching, and I hope you start liking it a bit more!
