Marilyn Manson, Part II

More beautiful people. There are a whole lot more still to edit, but I've added to the collection, and you can see them here (the new ones start on the third page, if you've been before).

The ones I like the most out of the new set:

I have two regrets about my trip to Sweden. One is that I saw a couple of guys (together, which made it about a million times better) wearing matching blue and yellow tees which said, "I (heart) blond girls". They were fantastic. I looked in one or two shops, but decided that it probably wouldn't have quite the same kind of playful feel about it to wear one by myself, and, on top of that, could not come up with one (hypothetical) appropriate situation in which to wear it anyways. Now I think, what if a situation does turn up? Where else am I going to find that shirt? Too late, I guess.

The other regret was that I didn't ask this girl if she would pose for a few shots. She smiled at me and her face just lit up - this picture doesn't begin to capture it. Rats.

Not a great shot, technically, but I love the contrast.

I love, love, love the focus in this.

They were giving people stamps of the public transit logo. I like it.

I think that really is her natural hair color. Isn't that wild?

The public transport thingy is pretty cool!! I've always thought that if I ever get a tattoo that would be a cool place where to have it (=
Considering that I usually have short hair it would be visible and if I ever feel the need to look respectable I could just let it grow. Or not. haha
Those are some really neet shots. Do you have city shots? I'd love to know what the rest of Stockholm looks like.

I have a ton. The truth is, these are just a whole lot easier to edit... the exposure in many of the city ones is really tough because the sky is bright and the buildings are relatively much darker, but I want you to see both. Takes a bit more effort to get them like I want them, so I haven't gotten around to them yet...

She so is NOT a natural blond. Hello... eyebrows!

The Swedes really do invest in their highlighting and color jobs. They've got that Barbie stereotype to uphold. At least it looks good most of the time!

Great shots - really do love that "focus" one too. And Miss Not-Blond is really lovely too, notwithstanding.

I'm not buyin' it. I think that the hair is real and the eyebrows are colored. I mean, she has NO roots showing, it's super-light, and there is nothing platinum-y about it.

I tend to agree with anonymous again. She may have just had it done the day before so you couldn't see roots. The colors have come a long way, Darryl - more realistic these days. What do you have to edit on pictures like these? Can't you just be like the rest of us and show us your "unedited" pictures? Can't anything other than this girl's hair be natural ;) Love you Darryl!!

I really think it's her eyebrows that are colored. We need an expert witness here... unfortunately, I don't know any. And it's a little late to ask.

As for the editing... well, usually the exposure, the contrast, the saturation, the sharpening, the noise reduction, the warmth, occasionally the white balance. I could just post them as they come out of the camera, but I have a hunch you'd be a lot less interested in seeing them. For me, there are three not-really-equal, but all significant parts to photography, as I've been able to discover it so far: first is seeing the shot - this is the most important but also the toughest to learn; second is getting it in the camera, which is the toughest part for me; third is editing it after... which, for me, is more or less taking what I saw in my mind when I wanted the picture in the first place, comparing it with what the camera gave me, and trying to make up the difference.

I guess if I was interested in making my pictures as real as possible I'd be more likely to post them without editing. But I don't want reality - I want more.

Wow, Darryl. I had no idea it was even possible to do so many things to a picture after it comes out of the camera. Maybe that's why mine are "just pictures." I know that I need to eliminate the bad ones, which I'm even bad at doing. I just download them all, and don't take the time to go through them carefully. You'll see when I send you the disk of shots of Allison's trip here...

Yeah, well, pics of my little chick are different. They're all beautiful to start with.

Well, if you ask MY mom, I AM the expert. Apparently I had a whole lot of confidence as a kid and I would tell her, "I've got it Mom. I'm an expert." Which would send my mom into laughing fits, imitating and mocking me. Thankfully with love.

Mmmm Which reminds me... I'm ready to see some new ones of Baby Doll.

Your mom loves me. How did I manage to win over the loyalty of this fine woman, mostly by talking smack?

Darryl's Mom: I'm a much better person on my own blog. There I have people who actually hold me responsible for what I post.
